Austin Theiss Takes Southern Oklahoma Checkers; Knoxville Next

HOCKLEY, Texas (September 22) – For the second time this season Austin Theiss parked his Northside Plumbing Supply #7D MB Customs/Mullins Racing Engine Super Late Model in victory lane. His latest conquest came at Southern Oklahoma Speedway.

Austin Theiss headed to Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) on Saturday night for the annual Jordan Page Winter Nationals. Improving two spots in his heat, Theiss scored a 2nd place finish. Starting in the 3rd position in the feature event, Austin took the lead on the third lap and never looked back en route to the victory. Capturing his second win of the season, Austin Theiss took home the $750 payday.

“The car was really good all night, and I can’t thank Jimmy and Chris Mars for all of their help with this new MB Customs car,” commented Theiss. “The learning curve for Super Late Models has been a steep one so far, but I feel like we are getting better and better every time that we hit the track.”

The upcoming weekend, September 24th-26th, will take Austin to the historic confines of Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) for the 12th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event pits many of the nation’s best drivers against one another atop the ½ mile oval. Action opens on Thursday and Friday with $7,000-to-win events each night, while Saturday night’s finale will be headlined by a $40,000-to-win finale.
