Chase Junghans Strong in WoO Weekend Action; World 100 Next

by Ben Shelton
MANHATTAN, Kansas (September 9) – The second half of 2015 has been filled with strong outings for Chase Junghans in his #18 Shop Quik Racing/Capital/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model, and the Labor Day weekend found him gaining more momentum.

“We’ve had all the pieces in place all year, bad luck just kept us from scoring the finishes to show it the first half of the year,” Junghans remarked. “We’re starting to get solid results now, and I hope this means we’ll have a good run at Eldora Speedway this coming weekend. I’ve never been very good there, so maybe that’s all about to change.”

Chase Junghans returned to action on Friday at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) for the World of Outlaws Late Models Series-sanctioned, 2nd Annual Working Man 50. Against a crowd of forty-two Super Late Models, Chase scored a 3rd place finish in his heat transferring him into the main event. With 50-laps determining the winner of the $10,000 paycheck, Junghans held his 9th place starting for the entire distance.

The following night with thirty-nine entries on hand for the rescheduled, 9th Annual Firecracker 100 from June, Chase Junghans won his 10-lap heat giving him a top five starting spot for the 100-lap affair. Paying $30,000 to the winner, Chase scored a 4th place finish behind Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, and Jared Miley with Josh Richards finishing 5th.

On Sunday night Chase ended the busy weekend by traveling to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) for the WoOLMS-sanctioned, 17th Annual Jeff’s Auto Body National Open. With thirty-nine Super Late Models entered, Junghans earned the 7th place starting spot for the feature via a heat race victory. With an $8,000 top prize on the line, Chase Junghans improved two spots scoring a podium finish behind Darrell Lanigan and Shane Clanton with Morgan Bagley, and Josh Richards rounding out the top five.

Chase Junghans is currently in seventh in the latest series' standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.WoOLMS.com .

Shop Quik Racing is now focused on this weekend’s 45th Annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio). The event opens with twin $5,000-to-win features on Thursday and Friday, followed by a $48,000-to-win finale on Saturday evening.
