Title: R.J. Conley Runner-Up in Jim Dunn Memorial; Rod Conley Second Post by LMR on 08/07/15 at 1:30am FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 6, 2015 ________________________________________ R.J. Conley Runner-Up in Jim Dunn Memorial; Rod Conley Second at Portsmouth WHEELERSBURG, OHIO (August 6) - The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams split up on Saturday evening, August 1 and headed to two different Buckeye State ovals - Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio and Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. R.J. Conley and son J.T. Conley ventured to Zanesville for the annual running of the 'Jim Dunn Memorial.' R.J. clicked off the second fastest lap in Group B during qualifying, won his heat race, and later moved up to second in the $10,000 to win headliner to finish a strong runner-up behind only victor Jared Hawkins. J.T. unfortunately lost a wheel during his heat race, which caused significant damage to his Rocket Chassis and forced him to scratch from the remainder of the unsanctioned program. Delmas Conley and Rod Conley headed to nearby PRP on Saturday night for a $2,000 to win weekly showdown. Delmas set Fast Time during the qualifying session, won the dash, and was leading the main event until he was caught up in a wreck that occurred with the leaders just as a caution flag flew over the field. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer nearly rolled his #71 entry from the contact and was forced to retire in the seventeenth position. Rod won his heat race in preliminary action and later blasted all the way up to second in the A-Main to garner a runner-up performance behind only race winner Jason Montgomery.
