Title: Dennis Erb, Jr. Runner-Up in Prairie Dirt Classic; Cedar Lake Ahead Post by LMR on 07/30/15 at 2:44pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 30, 2015 ________________________________________ Dennis Erb, Jr. Runner-Up in Prairie Dirt Classic; Cedar Lake Ahead for #28 Team CARPENTERSVILLE, ILL (July 30) - With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sitting idle over the July 24-25 weekend, Dennis Erb Racing made the short trip to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois for the 26th Annual 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once again sanctioned the mega-event, which boasted a whopping $26,000 top prize. On Friday night during preliminary action, Dennis Erb, Jr. clicked off the third quickest lap in Group A during qualifying prior to scoring the victory in his stacked heat race. After drawing the sixth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in Saturday's 100-lap headliner, Dennis enjoyed a fast racecar from the beginning of the race. Ultimately, Dennis grabbed the top spot on lap 31 and led the 'Prairie Dirt Classic' on four different occasions (31-49, 52-64, 66-90, 94-99). The Carpentersville, Illinois star unfortunately came out on the short end of a spirited battle for the win on the final circuit when eventual winner Jonathan Davenport muscled his way to the checkers first. Dennis was able to bag an impressive runner-up performance in the PDC, which netted him $10,000 for his efforts. Complete results from FALS can be accessed online at www.woolms.com. The #28 team will now focus their full attention on this weekend's 28th Annual 'USA Nationals' at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will once again preside over the crown jewel extravaganza, which will kick off tonight, July 30 with a $6,000 to win preliminary event. Qualifying and heat races for the 'USA Nationals' will then take place at CLS on Friday evening, July 31, while the consolation events and the 100-lap main event are slated for Saturday night, August 1. A gargantuan $50,000 winner's check has been established and Dennis will be gunning for his first 'USA Nationals' title. Dennis would like to thank all of his sponsors including: J.R.
