Jimmy Mars' Dream Weekend Highlighted by Top Five in Twin 25; Heads to Cedar Lake

MENOMONIE, WI (June 11) - The Mars Racing team descended upon the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 4-6 for the 21st edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' The huge three-day crown jewel extravaganza in the Buckeye State kicked off with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night at Eldora, Jimmy Mars ran fourth in his heat race prior to slipping back to seventeenth in the $2,500 to win weekend opener. At the "Big E" on Friday evening, Jimmy placed third in his heat race and later picked off eight competitors during the $5,000 to win headliner to bag an impressive fourth place effort behind only winner Jonathan Davenport, Steve Casebolt, and Jeep Van Wormer!

When Saturday rolled around at Eldora Speedway, all eyes were fixated on the 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' which once again boasted a whopping $100,000 paycheck. Jimmy finished fifth in his loaded heat race, but later grabbed the second transfer spot through his consolation event. After starting the 100-lap grind from the inside of the twelfth row, the Menomonie, Wisconsin ace was unfortunately an early retiree and settled for a twenty-sixth place showing. Complete results from the extended weekend can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be a trip to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on June 12-13 for the 17th Annual 'Masters' weekend. Once again, the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour will roll into the area to preside over a pair of big events at CLS. A $5,000 winner's check will be on the line on Friday night, while Saturday's victor will bag a $10,000 windfall.
