Title: Ray Cook Runner-Up in Southeastern Classic at Dixie Speedway Post by LMR on 03/18/15 at 1:47pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 18, 2015 _______________________________________ Ray Cook Runner-Up in Southeastern Classic at Dixie Speedway BRASSTOWN, NC (March 18) - Ray Cook Racing made a late-week decision to head to Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening, March 14 for the 'Southeastern Classic.' The unsanctioned Super Late Model special at the Atlanta-area facility boasted a $5,000 payday. Armed with a motor loaned to him by Kenny Lamb Race Engines, Ray Cook knocked down the sixth quickest lap during the qualifying session. After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the 50-lap headliner, Ray blasted past four competitors during the distance and put forth a strong challenge for the win on the last circuit. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace settled for an impressive runner-up effort in the 'Southeastern Classic' behind only race winner Jason Hiett. Full results from Dixie can be viewed online at www.dixiespeedway.com. Ray is slated to take the upcoming March 20-21 weekend off from racing action, as he will put his promoter's hat on for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series opening weekend at Cleveland (TN) Speedway and Boyd's (GA) Speedway. The next time the "Tarheel Tiger" is scheduled to jump behind the wheel of his #53 racecar is Saturday night, March 28 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will preside over a $5,000 to win showdown next weekend at SMS. More information concerning this race can be found online at www.ultimatesupers.com.
