Three Conley's Transfer into $50k DTWC at Portsmouth; Rod Conley Ready for Fall 50

WHEELERSBURG, OH (October 23) - The Conley Motorsports, Inc. teams returned to racing action over the October 17-19 weekend, as they made the short tow to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for the 34th edition of the 'Dirt Track World Championship.'  A whopping $50,000 winner's check was once again on the line in the final event of the season for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.  On Friday night, R.J. Conley topped the talented field of 89 competitors in qualifying by laying down a fast lap of 14.706 seconds.

Later in the evening, R.J., Rod, and Delmas Conley all earned the third transfer spot in their respective heat races - marking the first time that all three drivers advanced into the same 'Dirt Track World Championship' main event.  R.J. finished behind Jonathan Davenport and Gregg Satterlee, while Rod rallied to finish third behind prelim victor Billy Moyer and runner-up Mason Zeigler.  Delmas, who has a permanent spot in the Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, then earned the final transfer position in his heat race behind only Eddie Carrier, Jr. and Steve Casebolt.

Following a rain-out on Saturday, the remainder of the DTWC program was held at PRP on Sunday afternoon.  Rod and Delmas both finished the entire 100-lap crown jewel main event, as they ran in the sixteenth and nineteenth position respectively.  R.J. unfortunately suffered a broken fan blade early in the headliner and was forced to retire from the daytime affair in the twenty-ninth spot.  J.T. Conley was not able to advance into his first 'Dirt Track World Championship' after finishing tenth in his heat race, ninth in his B-Main, and twenty-second in the 'Jim Dunn Memorial' for non-qualifiers.  Complete results from the action-packed weekend at Portsmouth can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

With three Conley Motorsports, Inc. drivers opting to take the upcoming October 24-25 weekend off from racing competition, Rod Conley will travel alone to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky this Saturday evening for the annual running of the 'Fall 50.'  The unsanctioned show will feature heat races, B-Mains, and the 50-lap main event, which will once again boast a $5,000 payday.  Rod is the defending winner of the 'Fall 50' and will be looking for his second straight race title this weekend at the Cincinnati-area speedplant.  Additional information concerning this race can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.florencespeedway.com.
