Tyler Erb Top Five Finish in Gumbo Nationals

MAGNOLIA, Texas (October 8) – 17-year-old, Tyler Erb entered the 8th Annual Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) over the weekend with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) and fought his way to a fourth place finish in his #91 Erb Racing/Rocket by Litton/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Fifty entries looked to conquer the $10,000-to-win, MSCCS program at the 1/4 mile oval, and Erb started his weekend by racing to a convincing heat race win on Friday evening to lock into the fourth starting spot for the 75 lap finale on Saturday night.

In the main event, Tyler ran third for much of the race before ultimately crossing the finish line in fourth behind race winner, Timothy Culp, Neil Baggett and Chad Thrash. Morgan Bagley completed the top five finishers.

"That was a lot of fun this weekend," said Erb. "We were good from the time that we unloaded, and that's about the longest race I've ever run, so we gained a lot of experience. Special thanks goes out to my family, team, and sponsors on their great support."
