Eric Cooley Registers Top 5 at Magnolia; Whynot Next

FULTON, MS (October 16) – Eric Cooley enjoyed a great outing in his #33 Bryson Motorsports/Barry Wright/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model over the weekend as he powered it to a top five finish in his home state's biggest race of the year!

A talented field of 52 entries took part in the 10th Annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), and via qualifications Cooley earned the 2nd starting spot for his heat race. He would go on to race to the win in the heat to earn the 2nd starting spot for Saturday night's $20,000-to-win, 100 lap finale, where he lined up alongside Jimmy Owens.

As the feature went green Cooley settled into a top five position and would run throughout the feature for the duration of the event before registering a 5th place finish behind race winner, Jimmy Owens, Billy Moyer Jr., Bobby Pierce, and John Blankenship.

"To score a top five against such a strong field of cars feels like a win to me," a thrilled Cooley noted. "We had an awesome hot rod all weekend, and I can't wait for the next race."

This Saturday, October 19th Cooley will enter the Prelude to the Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). The race will serve as a tune-up event for the upcoming 19th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic, and the winner of this Saturday's program will guarantee himself a starting spot in next week's finale.
