Title: Eddie Carrier Jr. Finishes 10th in 43rd Annual World 100 Post by LMR on 09/11/13 at 1:22pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 11, 2013 _______________________________________ Eddie Carrier Jr. Finishes 10th in 43rd Annual World 100; 'Epic' Up Next ![]() by Ben Shelton SALT ROCK, West Virginia (09/11/13) - Eddie Carrier Jr. made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) over the weekend for the 43rd Annual World 100 at the famed oval in his #28 Grover Motorsports/Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model. Festivities began on Thursday night with 112 cars in the pit area as the field was divided into a pair of $5,000-to-win events. He earned the 5th starting spot for his heat race via qualifications, and went on to race to a 3rd place finish to lock into the 25 lap, preliminary feature in the 17th starting spot. Carrier Jr. was able to advance to a 10th place finish. Friday's program again found the field divided into a pair of $5,000-to-win races, and after qualifying 27th fastest he started 3rd in his heat race before advancing to a 2nd place finish, which positioned him starting 8th in the 25 lap finale. He raced in the top ten for much of the race before slipping to a 13th place finish. The weekend drew to a close on Saturday evening with the final night of the crown jewel. With heat race line-ups being determined by a driver's performance on the preliminary nights Eddie started and finished 2nd in his heat race to transfer to the 9th starting spot for the 100 lap finale, which was held in front of a capacity crowd of over 23,000 fans. During the course of the $46,000-to-win race Eddie battled throughout the top ten before registering a 10th place finish. "Much of this season has been a struggle for our team, so to go into the biggest race of the year and record a top ten finish really felt good," noted Carrier Jr. Full results from the program are available at www.EldoraSpeedway.com . This weekend, September 13th-14th, Eddie Carrier Jr. will travel to Brushcreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio) for the annual Epic Weekend. Preliminary action will be held on Friday night with Saturday night's program being headlined by a twin features. The first feature will pay $10,000 to the winner with the second feature presenting the winner with a brand-new Harley Davidson motorcycle.
