Title: Boom Briggs Captures ULMS Title for Second Time Post by LMR on 11/14/12 at 7:48pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 14, 2012 ________________________________________ Boom Briggs Captures Kennedy Motorsports ULMS Title for Second Time Bear Lake, PA (November 14, 2012) The 2012 racing season has come to a close for Rick 'Boom' Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team after they earned their second Kennedy Motorsports United Late Model Series (ULMS) championship title in the past three years. Briggs started 42 total events during the 2012 season with 25 top-ten's and 17 total top-five's. Although he did not capture any wins this season, Boom felt he had a solid season. 'Anytime you can win a series championship, it's a big deal, the series really fits what we've wanted to do the past couple of seasons since other obligations have taken over much of our time.' Boom continued, 'It's great to have a solid regional deal around the area that we can race with and to be able to win the championship for the second time in the past three years, it's a pretty solid accomplishment considering how much the series has grown the past few years.' Boom also had plenty of things to say about the Kennedy Motorsports ULMS Series and Series Director Chris Zuver. 'Chris (Zuver) does a heck of a job with the series and really tries his best to take care of everyone including the drivers, tracks, and fans. He's built this deal into what I think is the longest running series around, everything has come and gone, and Chris keeps on chugging away. It's pretty cool to be ULMS Champion and represent the ULMS and Chris for all the hard work he puts in every year.' Plans for the 2013 season are still undecided at this point but Briggs believes his 2013 schedule will resemble what the team did in 2012. 'We wanted to get out and travel a little more these past couple years but work has taken its toll on our racing program,' Boom said, 'but work is what pays the bills and what helps with the racing program. Work has to come first so that we can even race locally. If things change and we can get out on the road a little more, we may take advantage of it, but as of right now, we're looking at the same situation we had this past summer.'
