Jason Riggs Posts Pair of Top Tens Last Weekend; Scott James Heads to Ohio

HARRISBURG, IL (August 16) - Harrisburg, Illinois native Jason Riggs returned to racing action over the August 10-11 weekend and racked up a pair of top ten finishes in the states of Illinois and Tennessee. On Friday night at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Jason ran second in heat race action prior to finishing sixth in the dash. He later survived an early scrape with another competitor in the $1,200 to win main event to salvage a tenth place performance. At the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, Jason laid down the second quickest lap during qualifying, finished second in the dash, and later scored a ninth place effort in the $1,000 to win feature event.

Scott James also represented the Riggs Motorsports team over the weekend at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the 30th edition of the 'North/South 100' and a whopping $50,000 top prize was on the line. Scott narrowly missed out on transferring into the 100-lapper on Saturday after finishing sixth in his loaded heat race and fourth in his B-Main. While Jason Riggs and Kevin Cole are slated to take the upcoming August 17-18 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, Scott James is scheduled to head to the Buckeye State of Ohio for a pair of $5,000 to win showdowns. The Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio will be the track of choice for the "Silver Shark" on Friday night, while the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will take center stage on Saturday evening.
