Title: John Garvin Jr. Riding Hot Streak into Firecracker 100 Weekend Post by LMR on 06/27/12 at 12:56pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 27, 2012 _____________________________________ John Garvin Jr. Riding Hot Streak into Firecracker 100 Weekend Sarver, PA (June 27, 2012) John Garvin Jr. and Copperhead Racing have stayed busy throughout the first half of the 2012 season entering 32 total events at facilities across the Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia region. While Garvin struggled through the beginning of the season, the team looks to have turned the corner with three top-five finishes in a row and a string of six top-ten's in his last eight finishes. John's recent run of top-ten's is highlighted by a seventh place run at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottsbown, PA during an Appalachian Mountain Speedweek event. 'Copperhead' raced within the top-five of the talented field for a majority of the event before fading to seventh late. 'I think Lincoln is where things really started to turn around,' Garvin said. 'I have to thank my Dad, my crew, all my sponsors, and Brian Dougherty from Dougherty Motorsports and Integra Shocks. Everyone has been sticking with this deal through some rough times, but I think our luck is changing and hopefully we can keep it going through the rest of the season.' The rest of the season starts this weekend when the World of Outlaws Late Model Series invades Garvin's home track of Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA for the Sixth Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com. 'The Firecracker is one of our favorite weekends of the season,' Garvin said. 'It's literally in my backyard, to have an event like the Firecracker, this close to home is what every driver hopes to have. The ability to race for three straight nights, with the best in the business, for some very good money, all right in your backyard, what else can you ask for. There's no doubt it's one of our favorite weekends all year. Especially now that we have a little bit of momentum from a couple decent finishes recently; we have pretty high expectations for this weekend. We know we're in the show (guaranteed Lernerville points provisional), so we want to go out and be competitive with these guys and come back with a solid finish.' Garvin Jr. will be in action this upcoming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday June 28, 29, and 30 for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned, $30,000 to-win, Sixth Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com.
