Billy Moyer Sets Sights on UMP Summer Nationals Events Following Dream Top Ten

BATESVILLE, AR (June 13) - The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 8-9 for the 18th edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream' presented by Ferris Commercial Mowers. The crown jewel extravaganza drew 98 competitors to the "Big E" and all eyes were focused on the hefty $100,000 top prize. During the two-round qualifying session on Friday night, Billy Moyer laid down the twenty-sixth quickest lap around the 1/2-mile, high-banked facility.

When heat race action rolled around on Saturday evening, Billy advanced up to second in his loaded heat race to finish behind prelim winner Scott Bloomquist. The strong heat race finish enabled "Mr. Smooth" to start from the outside of the fourth row in the 100-lap 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' During the course of the race, Billy stayed inside of the top ten throughout much of the distance and eventually recorded a solid ninth place effort, despite spoiler damage and a worn right rear tire. The #21 BMR team has remained in the Midwest and is eyeing the start of the grueling UMP Summer Nationals campaign. While Billy has no intentions of following the entire month-long grind, he has committed to attending the first four races this week. The “Hell Tour” will kick-off tonight, June 13 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Following the $5,000 to win show tonight in southern Indiana, the UMP Summer Nationals will take the team to Kankakee, Illinois and New Richmond, Wisconsin later this week.
