Billy Moyer Jr. Conquers NEA Speedway; Hell Tour Up Next

by Ben Shelton
Batesville, Arkansas (6/12/12) –Billy Moyer Jr. continued his recent hot streak by piloting his #21jr Henderson Motorsports/Car City/Crop Production Services/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $2,000 triumph on Saturday night at Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas).

Last weekend found Jr. Motorsports taking part in a pair of $2,000-to-win events with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) in Missouri and Arkansas.  On Friday night the tour rolled into Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) as twenty-seven competitors registered for battle.  Billy would start fifth in his heat race before advancing to a third place finish, which locked him into the tenth starting spot for the main event.  In the feature he would battle in the top ten for the duration of the event before ultimately crossing the finish line in the ninth position.

On Saturday evening Moyer Jr. went into battle at Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) in an event that saw thirty competitors on hand.  After starting third in his heat race he would battle Dane Dacus for the lead for much of the event before finishing second, which locked him into the eighth starting spot for the main event.  In the feature he would rapidly work his way forward, and on a lap 9 restart he bolted to the top spot and would never relinquish it on his way to his third win of 2012!  He was followed across the finish line by Wendell Wallace, Dane Dacus, Curtis Cook, and Jeff Floyd.  Full results from both events are available at www.COMPDirt.com .

Billy now turns his focus to the 2012 edition of The Hell Tour, which opens this Wednesday, June 13th at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) and marks the first of 29 nights of racing in 32 days.  For the grueling tour, he will be joining forces with sponsor and good friend, Leon Henderson.

"Leon (Henderson) and I talked about doing this deal over the off-season, and thought it would be fun.  Not only is Henderson Motorsports a great sponsor, but they are great friends, and I think this deal will be a blast.  In 2010 the tour was a blast, but as I experienced last year it can turn into a nightmare pretty quick.  We are going to take this deal week by week, and just see how it goes.  We definitely hope and plan to run the whole deal," noted Moyer Jr.

The upcoming week of racing is shown below:
June 13th: Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, IN) - $5,000-To-Win
June 14th: Kankakee County Speedway (Kankakee, IL) - $5,000-To-Win
June 15th: Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, WI) - $5,000-To-Win
June 16th: Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, WI) - $10,000-To-Win

Henderson Motorsports to Tackle The Hell Tour

by Ben Shelton
Laurel, Mississippi (06/12/12) –  Henderson Motorsports will be looking to tackle the 2012 edition of the UMP DIRTCar Summernationals with drivers, Leon Henderson and Billy Moyer Jr., participating in the twenty-nine race tour.

Team owner, Leon Henderson comments, "I've always wanted to do this deal.  We plan to run all 29 nights, but if we get out there and have a lot of issues we will obviously adjust our schedule accordingly.  This is something I've always wanted to, and Billy (Moyer Jr.) has done it a couple of times now.  It's exciting to get to race this many times in a row and to go to a lot of new tracks.  I hit a handful of the events last year and was instantly hooked.  I'm thrilled to be teaming up with him for this deal, but I do want to make it known that this in no way reflects any changes coming within the Henderson Motorsports team regarding Scott Creel.  This deal with Moyer Jr. was put together before we ever brought Scott (Creel) on board at Henderson Motorsports.  He will continue to pilot one of our team cars."

The 2012 edition of the UMP DIRTCar Summernationals will feature a grueling 29 nights of racing in a 32 day span.  It begins on Wednesday night at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana).

June 17th: Wilmot Raceway (Wilmot, WI) - $5,000-To-Win
June 19th: Spoon River Speedway (Canton, IL) - $5,000-To-Win

Henderson Motorsports traveled to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) over the weekend for the 18th Annual Dream 100 at the famed oval with both Scott Creel and Leon Henderson in action.  Ninety-eight Super Late Models entered the $100,000-to-win event, and in time trials on Friday night Creel managed the sixty-seventh fastest time, while Henderson qualified seventy-eighth fastest.  With only the top sixty cars locking into a starting spot for a heat race, both drivers were forced to run a 20 lap qualifier.  In the first qualifier Creel started third and would slip back as far as fifth before rebounding to a second place finish behind Duane Chamberlain.  His qualifier performance left him starting eleventh in the fourth heat on Saturday evening. In the third qualifier Henderson started sixth and would race his way forward taking the lead from Tony Knowles on lap ten.  He would lead for the next five laps before his tires sealed over during an extended red flag. On the restart he slipped backwards too spots before ultimately spinning from contention. He started deep in the sixth heat race on Saturday evening.

On Saturday evening Creel advanced to a tenth place finish in his heat and Henderson advanced to an eighth place finish in his heat race.  Both drivers were eligible to run the c-main, but elected to retire from the event. Full results from the weekend are available at www.EldoraSpeedway.com.

Henderson Motorsports would like to thank their sponsors including L&D Trucking, L&D Scrap, Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer, Cornett Racing Engines, Mastersbilt Race Cars, Creel Brothers, Xtreme Graphics By J-Rod, and MSRMafia.com
