Scott James' Spring 50 Ends in Disappointment

HARRISBURG, Ill. (March 22) - Scott James and the #81 Riggs Motorsports team traveled to the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening, March 17 for the 36th Annual 'Spring 50.' The unsanctioned, one-day program was headlined by a $5,000 to win feature event. Scott struggled a bit during qualifying, but later moved up three spots in his heat race to finish a strong second in the prelim.

After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the 50-lap main event, Scott had quickly moved up inside of the top five before getting caught up in a huge lap two pileup. His #81 Rocket Chassis climbed the inside tire barrier exiting turn two and the damage caused Scott to retire with a disappointing nineteenth place finish.
