Eric Wells Sets New Track Record at Florence; Brownstown Next

Hazard, Kentucky (03/19/12) –Eric Wells piloted his #18 Wells Motorsports/Bloomquist/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model to a new track record at Florence Speedway on Saturday night.

Saturday night was a night of ups-and-downs for Eric in the 36th Annual Spring 50 at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky). A talented field of 33 competitors entered the $5,000-to-win event, and on a hammer-down track Wells began the night by setting a new track record around the 1/2 mile oval to earn fast time honors with a 14.748 second lap. He would back up the new track record with a heat race win, but as he crossed the finish line in his heat race, the water pump broke causing engine issues as the water temperature soared to over 280 degrees, which brought his night to a disappointing end. This Saturday, March 24th the team will travel to the historic Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) for the 15th Annual Indiana Ice Breaker.
