Ray Cook Visits Victory Lane at Toccoa; D&R Motorsports Preps for Dixie Fall Classic

BRASSTOWN, N.C. (November 1) - With the D&R Motorsports team opting to take the October 28-29 weekend off from racing action, Ray Cook took the opportunity to drive Kip Cochran's #98 MasterSbilt Gen-X by Carolina Performance car on Saturday night, October 29 at the Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia. The Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series (SLMSS) rolled into Toccoa on Saturday to sanction a $1,500 to win showdown. Ray laid down the fastest lap during qualifying to earn the pole position for the 35-lapper. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace then led flag-to-flag in the A-Main to claim the win, his seventh of the season, over Melvin English, David McCoy, Kenny Collins, and Hot Rod Lamance!

"I have to thank Kip (Cochran) and everyone associated with his team for letting me drive their car Saturday night at Toccoa," quoted Cook today via telephone. "That car was definitely fast and I look forward to driving it again at East Alabama during the Sportsman portion of the National 100 weekend. As for this upcoming weekend, I am really pumped about heading back to Dixie. We had a great run in the Dixie Shootout last month and hopefully we can challenge for the win again this weekend!"

Ray will be back behind the wheel of his D&R Motorsports #53 machine on November 4-5 at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia. The inaugural running of the 'Dixie Fall Classic' will be held this weekend at the D-shaped, Atlanta-area venue and a $5,000 top prize will be on the line. Time trials and heat races for the Super Late Models will take place on Friday night, while the A-Main is scheduled for Saturday evening.
