Title: Jeep Van Wormer Victorious in Season Finale at Eldora Speedway Post by LMR on 10/12/11 at 12:49pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 12, 2011 ________________________________________ Jeep Van Wormer Victorious in Season Finale at Eldora Speedway ![]() PINCONNING, Mich. - The Iron Motorsports team and driver Jeep Van Wormer closed out their version of the 2011 season victoriously, as they claimed a big win in the annual 'UMP Nationals' at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio over the October 7-8 weekend! On Friday night, Jeep laid down the third fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session, which locked him into the outside of the front row for Saturday's heat race. Jeep went on to win his heat race in preliminary action on Saturday to become the outside polesitter in the 40-lap 'UMP Nationals.' The Pinconning, Michigan ace was on the gas early in the race and grabbed the top spot immediately. Jeep then stayed out in front of the strong field from flag-to-flag en route to the popular $5,000 triumph over Frank Heckenast, Jr., Jason Feger, Kevin Cole, and Ryan Unzicker. "That was a pretty good way to end our season," exclaimed Van Wormer this week. "I have had a strong car at Eldora all year, but we finally put things together and got the job done. Frankie (Heckenast) raced me clean for the lead in the late stages of the race and it had to be a pretty good show for the fans. I have to thank my family, crew, sponsors, fans, and everyone associated with Iron Motorsports for their support this year. We struggled a little early in the season, but things started clicking during the summer and we ended the year on a strong note!"
