Scott James Grabs Top Five in Jackson 100; Sets Sights on Knoxville

BRIGHT, Ind. (September 29) - Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team traveled to the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on September 23-24 for the 32nd Annual 'Jackson 100.' On Friday night, Scott laid down the fourth fastest lap in his group during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualification session. When Saturday evening rolled around, Scott won his heat race to earn the fourth starting spot in the $20,000 to win 'Jackson 100.'

In front of the SPEED Channel cameras in the 100-lapper, Scott quickly moved up to the second position and chased leader Brad Neat. Hampered by an incorrect right rear tire selection, Scott still stayed up inside of the top five throughout the 2011 edition of the 'Jackson 100.' At the end of the race, the Bright, Indiana ace found himself in the fifth spot behind winner Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, Don O'Neal, and Jared Landers.

Scott and the #81 team will now turn their sole focus to the 8th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 29-October 1. A pair of $7,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs will kick off the three-day extravaganza tonight and Friday evening at the 1/2-mile complex, while Saturday’s 100-lap finale will pay $40,000 to the winner. The high-definition cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape all of the wheel-to-wheel action for broadcast in a matter of weeks.
