Title: Morgan Bagley Clinches SUPR Crown; Magnolia State 100 Next Post by LMR on 09/21/11 at 1:24pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 21, 2011 ________________________________________ Morgan Bagley Clinches O'Reilly SUPR Crown; Magnolia State 100 Next by Ben Shelton Longview, Texas (09/21/11) – Despite one race still remaining on the 2011 tour Morgan Bagley clinched the 2011 O'Reilly SUPR Late Model crown in his #14m McMillan Motorsports/Rocket By Club 29 Super Late Model with his performance last Saturday at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track. For the first time in 15 years a Texan has won the O'Reilly SUPR Series Championship. With only one race remaining and a point lead of 171 points, Morgan Bagley has been named the 2011 O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model Series Champion. There was a possibility that there would be one additional race scheduled, but O'Reilly SUPR officials posted on their Facebook page this morning that the race would not be scheduled. Since the maximum points available in any event is only 130 points, Morgan and Team 14 have clinched the title. "To win the O'Reilly SUPR Championship in my first year in a Super Late Model is really something special. Our goal this year was to just win the rookie honors, and we never dreamed we could claim the overall championship. I can't think all of our sponsors, fans, and supporters enough for helping to make this happen," commented an elated Bagley. McMillan Motorsports traveled to the state-of-the-art, Texas Motor Speedway DIrt Track on Saturday for the U.S. Dirt Track Championship. The $3,500-to-win event, which was sanctioned by the O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model tour saw a field of 34 cars entered in the program. The event would start well for Bagley as he won his heat race from the second starting position to earn the third starting spot for the 40 lap finale. The team was excited about their chances for the feature, but they would be at a disadvantage for the feature as they had elected to utilize their open motor for the program, and by the time the feature took to the track, extremely slick conditions would great the competitors. As a result, Bagley would slide backwards to an eleventh place finish by the time that the checkered flag flew. Despite not having the outing that the team had hoped, Morgan holds a 171 point lead in the O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model standings heading into the season finale at 171 Speedway (Leesville, Louisiana) in two weeks. The upcoming weekend, September 22nd-24th, will see the team travel to "The Baddest Bullring in the South," Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the 22nd Annual Magnolia State 100. The $20,011-to-win and $1,000-to-start event gets underway on Thursday night with an Open Practice Session before seeing time trials and heat races contested on Friday night. Saturday night's program will include b-mains, the last chance qualifier, and the lap feature event. Morgan Bagley would like to thank all of his sponsors, which include P&W Sales (Oil Field Manufacturers Rep.), MSI (Pumps, Valves, & Manifolds), Mr. Frank Motorsports, Wehrs Machine, Southern Transport, Outerwears Pre-Filters, Bulldog Rear Ends, 360 Motorsports, Sunoco Race Fuels, ShowTime Signs, D&T Racing, J&J Motorsports, Indy Screen Print, Club 29, Hyperco, and MSRMafia.com.
