Title: Scott James Gears Up for Second Week of Summer Nationals Action Post by LMR on 06/29/11 at 2:51am FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 28, 2011 ________________________________________ Scott James Gears Up for Second Full Week of UMP Summer Nationals Action BRIGHT, Ind. - Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team recently completed the first full week on the rigorous UMP Summer Nationals trail. While Mother Nature took three wins from June 20-26, Scott was able to reach victory lane on one occasion last week and amass two additional Top Ten performances. The Bright, Indiana ace claimed his second Summer Nationals victory last Wednesday night at the Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois. After setting fast time in his group and winning his heat race, Scott held off all challenges in the 40-lapper to score the $5,000 payday over Mark Burgtorf, Shannon Babb, Tim Lance, and Doug Drown. In other action last week, Scott finished seventh in the $5,000 to win programs on Thursday at the Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois and on Sunday at the I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. His top ten effort at I-96 was even more impressive after switching to a back-up car, taking a series provisional, and starting the 40-lap main event from the nineteenth position. The driver known as the "Silver Shark" also earned an eleventh place finish on Friday in a $10,000 to win series showdown at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. You can view a complete race-by-race recap from each night on the tour by clicking on www.ScottJamesMotorsports.com. "We started last week off with a great win at Highland and a pretty decent run at Fayette County," commented James last night via telephone. "Then we missed it (the setup) at Granite City on Friday and had a rough night on Sunday at I-96. The encouraging part about Sunday was that we battled back to salvage a seventh place finish and that was huge for the points deal. We were then able to come back home for a day and regroup here at the shop and we will be ready for Putnamville on Tuesday night!" After a day off yesterday, Scott and the rest of the Summer Nationals regulars will return to competition tonight, June 28 at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana. A long week awaits the #81 team, as they will enter seven events from June 28-July 4 in the states of Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Iowa. Scott heads into tonight second in the latest version of the "Hell Tour" point standings. His upcoming schedule is shown below: June 28 | Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana) | $5,000 to win June 29 | Belle Clair Speedway (Belleville, Illinois) | $5,000 to win June 30 | Clayhill Motorsports (Atwood, Tennessee) | $5,000 to win July 1 | Paducah Int'l Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) | $12,000 to win July 2 | I-55 Raceway (Pevely, Missouri) | $10,000 to win July 3 | Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Illinois) | $5,000 to win July 4 | 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) | $5,000 to win Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team would like to thank the following group of sponsors for their continued support: Clearwave Communications, Murphy Motorsports, JFR Graphics, Rocket Chassis, Jay Dickens Racing Engines, A-1 Technologies, Bert Transmission, Beyea Headers, Braswell Carburetion, Dan Olson Racing Products, Delph Communications, Dyer's Top Rods, Goodridge, GW Performance, Hoosier Racing Tires, Integra Shocks, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Jones Racing Products, Performance Bodies, Peterson Fluid Systems, R2C Performance, Sweet Mfg., VP Race Fuels, Weld Wheels, Wiles Driveshafts, Wilwood Engineering.
