Title: Scott James Impressive in Show-Me 100 and Budweiser Post by LMR on 06/02/11 at 9:44pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 2, 2011 ________________________________________ Scott James Impressive in Show-Me 100 and Budweiser 50 Over Memorial Day Weekend BRIGHT, Ind. (June 2) - The "Silver Shark" Scott James and the #81 Riggs Motorsports team were very impressive over the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend in the states of Missouri and Illinois! On Friday and Saturday, May 27-28, the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri played host to the 19th Annual 'Show-Me 100.' Scott timed in eleventh fastest in his group during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying on Friday night and later grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in the $30,000 to win 'Show-Me 100,' the Bright, Indiana native picked off seven competitors during the 100-lapper to score an eighth place performance. The crown jewel event was taped by the CBS cameras for broadcast on CBS Sports Spectacular on June 19 at 5:00 p.m. EST. On Sunday, May 29, the action quickly shifted to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for the $10,000 to win 'Budweiser 50.' Scott qualified third quickest in his group, but blasted to the lead early in his heat race to take the impressive win. He later started fourth in the 50-lapper and had his sights set on his first win of the 2011 campaign. Scott was a factor throughout the 'Budweiser 50' and nearly pulled off a slidejob to take the lead with only one lap remaining. However, he had to settle for a strong runner-up effort behind only winner Jason Feger. The #81 team will look to continue their strong start to the 2011 campaign this Saturday night, June 4 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction the annual running of the ‘Ralph Latham Memorial’ on Saturday at the King family 1/2-mile speedplant. A $10,000 payday awaits the winner of the 50-lap feature event.
