Myers the Man to Beat In Three State Flyers action at Winchester

WINCHESTER, Va. (May 27) - D.J. Myers has definitely proved he is the man to beat at Winchester Speedway. Myers driving The Gunters Honey owned machine captured the 35 lap Winchester/ Hagerstown Three State Flyers show Friday Night May 27, 2011 at Winchester Speedway from his ninth starting position.Thirty Late Models checked into the pit area for the $3000 to win main event. Other winners were Glenn Elliott in the Limited Late Models, Mike Corbin Pure Stocks, Brandon Churchey Enduros and Doug Crank U-Cars.

In the 35 lap Late Model main event it was J.T. Spence and Jonathan Dehaven leading the field to the green with Spence taking the top spot. The duo ran one, two for the first eight laps as a caution would fly for Ronnie Dehaven Jr. Field reset with Spence in control with Dehaven trying to make a move but could not make the pass. Caution flew again on lap fifteen for a slow moving Keith Jackson with mechanical problems. Spence still leading the way, Dehaven second, would see ninth starting Myers who had worked his way into third. On lap nineteen Myers would make the pass on Dehaven and set his sights on Spence. The final caution would fly on lap twenty five to reset the field with Spence, Myers and Armel. Spence still in control would see Myers make the move on lap twenty-seven to take the top spot and never look back. Myers would pick up the win, Spence second, Miller third, Stuhler fourth and rounding out the top five was Tommy Armel. The consilatation race for the final six starting positions went to Kyle Hardy.

In the twenty lap Limited Late Model main event it was Glenn Elliott picking up the win. Brad Ritter and Elliott would lead the field to the green with Rotter taking the top spot only to have it snatched on lap two from Elliott. Elliott working the high side really put on a show for the fans as he and Ritter battled. Caution flew on lap twelve to reset the field. Elliott still leading the way, Ritter second and moving into third was Greg Roberson. Elliott looked to be on his way to his win as caution flew on lap nineteen to slow the field giving Ritter one more shot at the top spot. Ritter could not make the pass as Elliott would go onto pick up the win, Ritter crossed second , Roberson third, fourth Kris Eaton, and rounding out the top five was Dale Smith.

The in fifteen lap Pure Stock main it was Mike Corbin picking up the win. Ricky Edmonds and Mike Corbin lead the field to the green with Corbin taking the top spot and never looked back. Caution flew on lap eight to slow the field. Field ready for green with Corbin still leading the way, by lap twelve Corbin had a sizable lead over the second place Carter, twelth place starter Kaiser had worked his way into the picture and would take second from Carter. Corbin would pick up the win, Kaiser second, Carter third, Gray fourth and rounding out the top five was Mike Rose.

Brandon Churchey would pick up the win in the Enduro main , second Dustin Proctor, third Brian Green, fourth Ray Priest, and fifth went to Danny Holmes.

The U-Car main event was won by Doug Crank picking up the win, second Stephen Andes, third Jeff Oster, fourth Ronnie Bolstridge and fifth went to Dave Alley.
