Scott James Preps for Huge Memorial Day Holiday Weekend

BRIGHT, INDIANA - Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team were looking forward to competing in the inaugural 'Bad Boy 98' at the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas over the May 20-21 weekend.  However, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdown was cancelled due to a large storm system that dumped several inches of rain in the Batesville area.  To salvage the rainy weekend, Scott traveled back north to the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri on Saturday to compete in a $1,200 to win weekly event.

The Bright, Indiana native endured a bad pill draw, which placed him starting last in his heat race.  Scott advanced up to the fifth position in his prelim and later rolled off from the outside of the seventh row in the A-Main.  With passing hard to come by throughout the feature, Scott was still able to advance five spots en route to a respectable ninth place effort.  Full results from the St. Louis area venue can be accessed online at www.i55raceway.com.

Next up for the #81 team will be a trip to the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on Friday and Saturday, May 27-28 for the 19th Annual ‘Show-Me 100.’  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction the crown jewel event, which boasts a hefty $30,000 payday.  For the first time ever, the cameras of CBS will tape the wheel-to-wheel action for broadcast on CBS Sports Spectacular on June 19 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Following the 100-lapper at Wheatland on Saturday night, Scott is tentatively planning on making the long overnight haul to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Sunday.  The American Late Model Series (ALMS) will sanction a $2,000 to win affair, which marks the final tune-up for the upcoming $100,000 to win ‘Dream 100’ at the “Big E.”  Additional information concerning both weekend events can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.eldoraspeedway.com.
