Title: Bobby Labonte Racing Prepares for Midwestern Doubleheader Post by LMR on 05/09/11 at 11:49pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 9, 2011 Bobby Labonte Racing Prepares for Midwestern Doubleheader Trinity, N.C. (May 9, 2011) - Bobby Labonte Racing (BLR) is preparing the cars of Earl Pearson Jr. and Brad Neat for two nights of racing this weekend. On Friday, May 13, BLR will be in competition at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa and then again on Saturday, May 14 at Lasalle (Ill.) Speedway. Both events will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). The No. 44 Lucas Oil Dodge of Pearson Jr. is heading into this weekend with a head of steam. The team finished a very successful month of April with three top-five finishes in four LOLMDS events along with a runner-up finish two weeks ago at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. Pearson Jr. will also be looking to repeat his success from 2010 when he won at 34 Raceway and placed second at Lasalle Speedway. "With the momentum we've had in the last four LOLMDS events and the success we had at both tracks last year, I'm looking for a pair of wins this weekend," said Pearson Jr. "Our team knows what it takes to win at both tracks and we're going out this weekend to do just that." The No. 41 Red Buck Cigars Chevrolet of Neat had two top-15 finishes last season at both tracks. Neat was able to race his way to a 13th-place finish at 34 Raceway and a 14th-place finish at Lasalle Speedway. In the last four LOLMDS events, Neat has one top-10 run with an eighth place finish coming at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway. "We want to break into the top-10 at both tracks," said Neat "We're working with the new Longhorn Chassis and hopefully these tracks will suit it well. We want a strong start to this month." Pearson Jr. now holds solo possession of fourth in the Lucas Oil Series championship standings, 110 points out of third place. Neat dropped out of the Top-10 in points for the first time in well over a month and now sits 11th, but just 20 points out of 10th place and 55 points out of sixth. With such a tight points battle from sixth to 11th, with two good runs this weekend, Neat could propel himself up five positions in the standings. |
