Best of the Best at OMS Friday for the USMTS Modified Touring Series

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA - The USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour powered by Swan Energy embarks on a four-week campaign of high-paying, high-horsepower events this week with four big events beginning this Thursday, April 28, through Sunday, May 1 over the region. The USMTS superstars will invade Outlaw Motor Speedway on Friday, sponsored by Creek Nation Casino Muskogee with drivers from 10 states represented.

“When you get to bring in the best Modified drivers in the nation to your track, you’re more than excited,” said track manager Eric Shannon. “We have been privileged to have this event each of the last three years and have had some fantastic racing with every one of the main events coming down to the last lap.”

The USMTS $pring $wing will take place over the next four weekends with 14 shows over the course of 25 days and over $200,000 in prize money awaiting the nation’s elite open-wheel dirt Modified drivers. Each event will pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start the main event.

On Friday, April 29, the Outlaw Motor Speedway welcomes back the USMTS Modifieds for the 3rd Annual Creek Nation Casino Spring Fling. Westville’s Jason Hughes is a two-time winner at “The Outlaw” too with a win in March last year as well as the inaugural event in 2003 while Tommy Myer captured the second night of action eight years ago.

Ryan Gustin made his debut with the Gressel Racing team one year ago at the Outlaw Motor Speedway and has since racked up a series-leading 21 victories during the last year, including June 11 last season when the track added that date just two days earlier after another track canceled their event in the eleventh hour.

Gates open at 5:30 and racing begins at 8 p.m. Factory Stocks, Pure Stocks, Grand Nationals and 360 Modifieds will also be in action. Grandstand prices Adult $15, kids 6-12 $5, 5-under is FREE! Pit Admission Adults $30, Kids $20.

All three events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will award points in both the Schwab’s Tinker Shop Mo-Kan Region and the newly-formed Southwest Region.

Gustin currently leads the Schwab’s Tinker Shop Mo-Kan Region points battle over Hughes, while Jon Tesch sits third ahead of Kelly Shryock and Dustin Boney. Other drivers expected for the kick-off weekend for the USMTS $pring $wing include Johnny Scott, Rick Beebe, Rodney Sanders, Zack VanderBeek, Bryan Rowland, Terry Schultz, Tommy Myer, Chase Junghans, Jerry Standifer, Austin Siebert, Mickey Burrell, Mark Dotson, Terry Phillips, Randy Timms, Johnny Bone Jr., John Allen, Tommy Weder Jr., Joe Duvall, Greg Skaggs, George Martin, Matt French, Terry Beckham II, Steve Mullenburg, Rick Bebee, Gary Andrews, Jason Teague and many more of your favorite Modified drivers from around the country.
