Title: Bobby Labonte Racing Prepares for Northern Swing Post by LMR on 04/26/11 at 12:21pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 26, 2011 Bobby Labonte Racing Prepares for Northern Swing Lucas Oil Series Heads to Pennsylvania for Two Consecutive Nights of Racing Trinity, N.C. (April 26, 2011) - Bobby Labonte Racing (BLR) is prepping the Longhorn Chassis and cars of Earl Pearson Jr. and Brad Neat for this weekend's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt (LOLMDS) Series events taking place in Pennsylvania. On Friday, April 29, BLR will be in competition at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Penn. and on Saturday, April 30, BLR makes the short trip down the highway to Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Penn. After a two week layoff from the LOLMDS Tour the team is looking forward to getting back on the championship trail. Bedford Speedway has played host to the LOLMDS three times before with a different winner each night. Last year, Earl Pearson Jr. in his Lucas Oil Dodge was able to win his heat race in convincing fashion and went on to finish fourth in the feature. In 2009, Pearson Jr. would place fourth in his heat race and would win the first B-main of the night. During the feature event, he would circum to mechanical issues on lap 30. Then in 2008, Pearson Jr. ran nose to tail with eventual winner Steve Francis. Pearson Jr. finished second in the shortened event. "We really like going to the northern tracks as we've always had good runs there," said Pearson Jr. "With two top-five finishes in three races at Bedford Speedway, we have high hopes coming into Friday nights event." Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex will host its first ever LOLMDS event on Saturday. The prestigious event will be the biggest race in the history of the speedway since opening in 1998. During the winter months, the staff at Roaring Knob re-clayed the track surface and added banking in the corners in preparation for Saturday's event. "We've never been to Roaring Knob before so this will be a first for us," said Neat. "I'm excited about making the trip. I've heard a lot of good things about this facility and look forward to racing there." BLR is having a very successful year thus far with both BLR drivers in the top 10 in points. Pearson Jr. is currently tied for fourth with Dennis Erb, just 85 points behind the series leader, Scott Bloomquist. While Neat is seventh, just 40 points behind Pearson Jr. Both drivers look to move up in the standings this weekend. |
