Klint Byars Continues Strong Start to Season with Third at JMS

Carrollton, Mississippi (04/05/11) –Klint Byars continued his early season hot streak over the weekend by piloting his #5 Southern Belle/K&K Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model to a third place finish in the season opener for the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) on Saturday night.

Klint entered the opener for the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) on Saturday night, April 2nd at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi). Thirty-three Super Late Models entered the event, and Byars started the night on a strong note as he set fast time in his group to earn the outside front row starting spot for the pole sitter's dash. He would go on to win the dash, which put him on the pole for the 50 lap, $2,500 to win feature alongside Steve Bryan. Byars would battle for the lead for much of the event before settling into a third place finish behind race winner, Brooks Strength, and Timothy Culp. This Saturday, Byars will enter another MSCCS event as the team travels to Rodney Wing's Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Saturday night for a $2,500 to win, 50 lap event. Byars has enjoyed several strong runs at the racy, red clay oval in the past and will be looking for his second win of the season this weekend.
