Title: Scott James Set to Invade Fairbury and Eldora this Weekend Post by LMR on 09/02/10 at 1:31pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 2, 2010 Scott James Set to Invade Fairbury and Eldora this Weekend (BRIGHT, INDIANA) The Scotty Earl Racing team, with Scott James behind the wheel of their #s44 Rocket racecar, competed in a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs over the August 27-28 weekend in the states of Indiana and Kentucky. On Friday night, the nearby Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana played host to a $10,000 to win, SPEED Channel taped showdown. Scott suffered through a myriad of problems during preliminary competition, but received a fast time provisional to gain access into the 50-lap main event. Unfortunately, he retired early in the A-Main and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth place performance. Next up for the #s44 team was a trip to the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky on Saturday evening for another $10,000 to win event. Scott ran fifth in heat race action, but later won his B-Main to gain access into the 50-lap 'Bluegrass Classic.' After rolling off seventeenth on the grid, the Bright, Indiana native once again retired in the early stages of the race and settled for a twenty-sixth place effort. Full results from the LOLMDS doubleheader can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com. The “Silver Shark” has been feverishly working on his own #83 equipment for a pair of big events at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Friday and Saturday, September 3-4. A $5,000 to win tune-up race will take place on Friday evening at F.A.L.S., while the annual running of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic’ will headline the weekend on Saturday night. A $10,000 top prize will be up for grabs on Saturday in one of the most prestigious shows in the Midwest. Additional information concerning the doubleheader at Fairbury can be located at www.fairburyspeedway.com. Following Fairbury, Scott and his own #83 team will turn their attention to the annual ‘Baltes Classic’ at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Sunday, September 5. The American Late Model Series (ALMS) will sanction the $3,000 to win affair, which will mark the final opportunity to log some laps around the “Big E” prior to the upcoming ‘World 100.’ More news concerning the ‘Baltes Classic’ can be accessed at www.eldoraspeedway.com. All summer long, fans are encouraged to donate money for Scott James to “Brave the Shave!” The campaign, which kicked off at the ‘Dream 100’ in early June, will culminate during the ‘World 100’ weekend at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 9-11. Scott, along with twenty other drivers, will shave their heads at Eldora to raise money for three worthy cancer charities.
