Four Nights of Fab Four Racing, Four Champions to be Crowned
Welcome to August at Lernerville Speedway!

Sarver, PA (August 5, 2010) Where has the season gone? With four months in the books, Lernerville Speedway’s 2010 season of Fab Four Racing is down to just four more weeks of Fast Fridays! The heat and humidity of August will only serve to further fuel of the fire of championship aspirations.

Entering this Friday Night’s Fab Four Racing program sponsored by Kenny Ross and attended by the ARCH Fan Club, two divisions appear to be going to the wire with multiple drivers in contention while two other divisions are all but sewed up.

The closest race in the Budweiser Point Standings is in the Ti22 Performance DIRTcar Sprints where All Time Wins Leader Ed Lynch Jr. leads the division by nine points over 2010 Breakout Driver Danny Holtgraver. Lynch is planning his annual pilgrimage to the Mecca of Sprint Car Racing, also known as the Knoxville Nationals, but after winning four of the last five features, even with taking a week off, Lynch could still win his fifth Lernerville Track Championship.

Danny Holtgraver is still anxiously awaiting his first career Lernerville Speedway feature win, but would love to add his name to the prestigious list of Track Champions which includes Ralph Quarterson, Lou Blaney, Brad Doty, Tim Shaffer, Dale Blaney, Craig Rankin, Mark Cassella, Jamie Smith, Jimmy Hawley, Bob Felmlee, Rod George and Kevin Schaeffer. Former Track Champion Bob Felmlee and Defending Track Champion Rod George are still in the hunt, as is darkhorse Jack Sodeman Jr.

Jack could join his father Jack Sodeman Sr. on the list, being just the second Father-Son Championship combination along with Lou and Dale Blaney. Jack has feature wins at Lernerville, Sharon and Wayne County Speedways, Raceway 7 and most recently at Mercer Raceway Park this season. He could go on a late run and steal his first Lernerville Track Championship!

Over the past few weeks, Kevin Bolland has stretched his Bud Points lead in the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Modifieds to 22 points over Defending Track Champion Jeremiah Shingledecker. The race behind Shingledecker is even closer as Del Rougeux Jr., Brian Swartzlander and the white hot “Double Duty” Dave Murdick are all within 18 points of Shingledecker and 40 points of Bolland. 40 points is the maximum number of points a driver can earn on a given night.

Murdick, like Lynch, is on an absolute roll after winning his career best fourth feature of the season last Friday Night. But the consistent finishes of Kevin Bolland will be difficult for the others to overcome.

Dave Hess Jr. (DIRTcar Late Models) and Joe Kelley (Charapp Route 28 DIRTcar Sportsman) enter the final four weeks of Fab Four Racing with comfortable, but not insurmountable leads in the Budweiser Point Standings in their respective divisions.

Hess joined Lynch and Murdick last week in Sheetz Victory Lane for the fourth time this season. Jared Miley and Three-Time Defending Track Champion Alex Ferree are within striking distance, but will need Hess to score at least a couple more DNFs to have a realistic shot at the title.

Kelley has an astounding seven feature wins on the season and is once again leading the National Guard Heat Race Challenge standings, (tied with Lynch and Rougeux), for all divisions with six heat race wins. Last week’s $1200 Feature winner, (thanks to $900 in ERacer’s Bonus Bucks), Bob Egley is the only driver with a realistic chance to catch Kelley.

The aforementioned National Guard Heat Race Challenge is also winding down. Joe Kelley, Ed Lynch Jr. and Del Rogeux Jr. lead the way with six heat race wins apiece. Rod George, Danny Holtgraver and Dave Hess Jr. share second place with five heat race wins, while Kevin Bolland and Dave Murdick are tied with four wins each. Six drivers have three wins, 14 drivers have two wins, and 21 drivers have one win.

The action continues this Friday, August 6 and continues each of the next three weeks until 2010 Budweiser Track Champions are crowned on Championship Night on Friday, August 27.
