Title: Chub Frank Looks Ahead to ‘Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek’ Post by LMR on 07/22/10 at 12:45am FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Chub Frank Racing 982 Lottsville Niobe Road Bear Lake, PA 16402 814-489-3952 After Mid-Summer Break, Chub Frank Looks Ahead To World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek’ BEAR LAKE, PA – July 21, 2010 – Chub Frank has gotten a much-needed break from the rigors of the road since the World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Wild West Tour’ ended on July 10. Now the 48-year-old veteran from Bear Lake, Pa., is ready to get back to work on the WoO LMS with a big stretch of racing – Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek from July 27-Aug. 1 – that takes him to tracks where he’s enjoyed success in the past. Frank has spent the past two weeks regrouping his self-owned racing effort at his shop. His primary focus was on assembling a new Corry Rubber/Hino Toyota Rocket car for action in Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek, which kicks off on July 27 with a 40-lap, $8,000-to-win event at Central PA Speedway in Clearfield, Pa. “We’ve had this car sitting in the shop for awhile but haven’t had a chance to get it done until now,” said Frank, who enters the Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek ranked ninth in the WoO LMS points standings. “We want to try it and see how it works.” Frank is hoping that the fresh machine will get him back in the spotlight on the WoO LMS. He’s still searching for his first win of the season after falling short in the four races that comprised the recent ‘Wild West Tour’; his best finish was a seventh (after starting sixth) in the 50-lap A-Main on July 8 at Superior (Wis.) Speedway. Frank also placed eighth in the ‘Gopher 50’ on July 7 at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.; 11th on July 9 at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., in a scheduled 50-lap event that was declared official after 21 laps due to rain; and 12th in the ‘Great Plains 50’ on July 10 at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, S.D. Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek could be a turnaround for Frank, who has either won – or come close to it – at the five tracks that make up the swing: Central PA Speedway; Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio (July 28); Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park (July 30); Muskingum County Speedway (July 31); and Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pa. (Aug. 1). Frank owns WoO LMS victories at both Sharon (2007) and Muskingum County, where he snapped a year-long win drought in last year’s tour event. He also finished second in the 2008 WoO LMS event at Attica; placed second in the 2008 ‘Yankee Doodle 50’ at Central PA (after he went to the rear twice); and has a long winning history at Eriez, a one-third-mile oval that served as one of the launching pads for his illustrious career. As of Wednesday (July 21), Frank was considering entering an event this weekend to tune up for Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek but had not yet made an official decision.
