Jon Mitchell Set For COMP Cams MSRA Double Header

Texarkana, Texas (06/23/10) – Jon Mitchell will resume his pursuit of his first COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model title this weekend as he enters a pair of events with the tour in Arkansas in his #5 Team 5 Enterprise Super Late Model.

Last weekend Jon entered a pair of O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model events at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. On Friday night a $1,250 to win event was on tap, and Jon started 10th on the grid for the 25 lap feature. Early in the event he would battle an ill-handling car and ultimately retired to a 19th place finish.

On Saturday night, the winner's purse was increased to $2,500 for the 50 lap feature. Jon started 3rd in the feature after winning his heat race. Early in the event he would be shuffled back a few spots before rebounding to pick up a 7th place finish.

This weekend, the team will resume his pursuit of the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model Championship as he enters two events. On Friday, June 25th Jon will be in action at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas with a program that will be highlighted by a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 30 lap feature. On Saturday, June 26th Jon will travel to Crawford County Speedway for a $2,000 to win/$400 to start, 40 lap event.

Heading into this weekend’s events, Jon is currently third in the latest COMP Cams MSRA point’s standings just 30 points out of the lead.
