Eric Turner Cowboys Up For Show Me Late Model Series Triumph

Hermitage, Missouri (06/16/10) – Eric Turner picked up $1,000 and a brand new cowboy hat for his efforts after he powered #99 Rushin Towing/Swaffords Amoco/GRT/Hatfield Racing Engine Late Model to the Show Me Late Model Series triumph on Saturday night at the New West Plains Speedway in West Plains, Missouri.

Eric was back in action over the weekend in two events in the state of Missouri. On Friday he took part in the $2,000 to win, 30 lap event at Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri that was sanctioned by the COMP Cams MSRA. With thirty-three Super Late Models on hand Eric fell just short of accumulating enough passing points in heat race action to lock into the feature. As a result, he was forced to run one of the b-main events, which he won to earn the 16th starting spot on the main event grid. He would go on to advance two spots to a 14th place finish.

On Saturday night, he entered his first Show Me Late Model Series event of the season at New West Plains Speedway in West Plains, Missouri. Thirty-one competitors were on hand for the event, and Eric would start 7th in the feature. Early in the feature he worked his way up to the fourth position. By lap ten he had caught the top three cars, and lap 14 saw him bolt to the lead. He went on to lead the remainder of the event en route to the feature win, which was his fifth of the 2010 season! He received $1,000 for his efforts as well as a brand new cowboy hat.

Eric will not be in action this weekend as he takes some time to freshen his equipment. He will return to action on June 25th-26th with a pair of MARS Super Late Model events at State Fair Speedway (Sedalia, MO) and Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri).
