Scott James Preps for Eldora Speedway Following Ralph Latham Memorial

(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James and the Scotty Earl Racing #s44 team were back in Dirt Late Model competition together on Saturday evening, June 5 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolled into town to sanction the annual running of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial.'

Scott qualified well in LOLMDS group time trials and later won his competitive heat race to earn the third starting spot in the $10,000 to win main event. In front of the SPEED Channel cameras in the A-Main, the Bright, Indiana native was running sixth on lap 18 when he unfortunately broke a right front brake rotor. Scott wound up twenty-third in the final rundown of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial' following the mechanical trouble. Complete results can be found online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for Scott and the #s44 team will be the 16th Annual ‘Dream 100’ weekend at the hallowed high-banks of the Eldora Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 11-12. Qualifying at the “Big E” will take place on Friday night, while the heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap feature event is scheduled for Saturday evening. As always, a huge crowd is expected at the Rossburg, Ohio venue for the $100,000 to win ‘Dream 100.’ Scott has transferred into the Dream A-Main on five different occasions with a runner-up finish in 2006 marking his best career effort.
