Title: Casebolt Racing Endures Heart Breaking Dart Show-Me 100 Loss Post by LMR on 06/03/10 at 10:34pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 3, 2010 Casebolt Racing Endures Heart Breaking Dart Show-Me 100 Loss RICHMOND, IN (June 3, 2010) - After 3 long days at Wheatland, Missouri's Lucas Oil Speedway Steve Casebolt and team left the Show-Me 100 with all of their hopes shattered. After a lap 11 pit stop to change a rear tire Steve began his march forward. By around lap 50 Steve was flirting with the top five. In a race plagued by cautions and attrition Steve was able to advance all the way from 25th position on lap 11 to the lead by lap 76. After Steve took the lead he then proceeded to put distances of up to a full straight away on the competition. After passing virtually every car on the track Steve suffered mechanical failure on lap 89 that took him out of the race altogether. "To have a car that good and to lose the race in the last 11 laps has to be the biggest disappointment of my entire life. We have all worked so hard to get an opportunity to win a race with the magnitude of the Show-Me 100. I just hate it for my crew, family, fans and sponsors. When I was leading the race I knew how happy everybody involved would be. To get a win such as this and to be this close and break is just hear breaking", stated Steve. The win would have been worth $30,000 with a $2,000 bonus from long time supporter of Casebolt Racing Sunoco Race Fuels. Unfortunately the team wasn't able to celebrate in victory lane but it was clear that they had the car to beat. "To have had my name on the Show-Me 100 check would have been one of the biggest moments in my career. I just wish we could have made it another 11 laps without losing the driveshaft. I wasn't really even pushing the car at the end, just kind of riding on cruise control". "We are all so disappointed with what happened that it has been hard to wake up and get back to work in the mornings. We have managed to get the car put back together and we'll try to go get them this weekend". The team will travel to Tazewell, TN and Florence, KY for a pair of Lucas Oil sanctioned events. Steve won a $3,000 to win race at Florence speedway earlier this season so the team is excited to get to go to another track where they run well at. "We have been very competitive at Tazewell in the past leading a Lucas Oil event in 2006 and advancing from the back of the 2007 event to finish 5th. We feel we have a shot to win both of these events this weekend". Steve is the 2007 Ralph Latham Memorial Champion at Florence Speedway and has had multiple other wins at the northern Kentucky oval. "We have had as much success at Florence as we have anywhere and we know our cars run well there so we are excited about our chances.
