Title: Kid's Night & Subway Late Models at MO Fairgrounds Speedway Post by LMR on 06/02/10 at 11:00pm Sam Stoecklin MSFS Public Relations Sedalia, MO June 2, 2010 This Friday at Missouri State Fair Speedway is Kid’s Night with $20 Admission for Two Adults and All the Kids! This Friday night, June 4th at Missouri State Fair Speedway is Kid’s Night at the Races with special admission prices in effect. Weekly racing returns in all three premiere divisions including the Rick Ball Ford 360 Sprint Cars, Subway Late Models, and W-K Chevrolet Modifieds. Just $20 will gain entry for two adults and all the kids you can bring! Santa Claus will make a special “Christmas in June” appearance. Special single kid’s tickets were also issued for the event and may also be redeemed for free child’s entry to the races. This weekend marks the return of regular race action after the special event race two weeks ago. It will also be the first week back in action since the tragic and untimely passing of Jesse Hockett, who won the last 360 Sprint Car race held at the speedway on June 21st. Without a doubt, the 360 sprint drivers will compete with heavy hearts but no doubt will be giving it their all in hopes of racing their way into the Specialty Sportswear Winner’s Circle. Current point’s leader Jonathan Cornell of Sedalia has a slim 31-point lead on Boonville driver Rusty Potter in second. Mike Trent follows closely behind in third; Terry Hinck is fourth, and Faron Crank rounds out the top five in the standings. In the Subway Late Models, former feature winner David Turner, of Creighton, MO sits atop the point standings with veteran Kansas City driver, Larry Clawson holding down the second spot. Former track champion Chris Smyser of Lancaster, MO is currently third. Jon Binning has used consistency so far this season to run near the front and now finds himself inside the top five. In the fourth position is another former track champion, Dave Meyer, of Concordia, MO. Bryon Allison of Marshall, MO will be looking to turn his season around with a strong run this Friday night when racing resumes. Looking at the W-K Chevrolet Modified points, we find Oak Grove’s Chad Lyle on top of the standings. This past weekend it was announced that Lyle will soon be sitting out for a while to take care of some medical concerns and will likely be unable to race the remainder of the season, at press time it was unknown if Lyle would race Friday as his season is scheduled to come to an early close. The stand-out driver has already scored two feature wins this year and had stated that he was “running for the championship” at the speedway. Everyone at the speedway wishes Chad Lyle a speedy recovery and quick return to race action. Jason Thompson currently holds down the second position with surging Austin Siebert third. Jim Moody of Osessa is currently fourth, tied with one of the hottest modified drivers so far this year, Dustin Boney. Kid’s Night gets underway Friday evening with admission gates opening at 5, hot laps at 7, and racing at 7:30. Special rates for 2 adults and all the kids you can bring for just $20 in honor of kid’s night at the speedway will be in effect! Normal general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens 65 and up, military, and college students w/I.D.
