Chub Frank Once Again Bags Victory In Test & Tune Visit To Lernerville Speedway

BEAR LAKE, PA – May 26, 2010 – Chub Frank felt like he experienced the best of both worlds last Friday night at Lernerville Speedway – he gained some valuable setup knowledge and won a feature event.

Taking advantage of a weekend off from World of Outlaws Late Model Series action, Frank stayed in his home region of western Pennsylvania to spend an evening testing some ideas at the four-tenths-mile Lernerville oval. He ended up winning 25-lap DIRTcar Late Model feature, making him two-for-two in Lernerville appearances this season.

"We were just trying to find something with the race car and I think we did," Frank said of his Lernerville invasion. "We tested some stuff and made $1,300 (for first place), which is a lot better than renting a racetrack. At least we can say you got paid to test when you have a night like we had."

Frank, 48, of Bear Lake, Pa., didn't run the same Rocket car from his CFR stable that he drove to victory at Lernerville on April 23. Instead, he went racing in the 2005-vintage machine that he 'borrowed' from fellow western Pennsy driver Chad Valone last August and promptly steered to Victory Lane twice in WoO LMS competition.

The No. 1* mount carried him to a convincing triumph. He came from the 12th starting spot to grab the lead on lap 20 when Dave Hess Jr. bounced over the cushion.

"We ran a different car this time and it was a lot better," pronounced Frank. "I think we might have found something that will work for us, but we're not gonna know for sure until we get out on the road."

Frank will head back out on the WoO LMS this weekend, visiting Bedford (Pa.) Speedway on Fri., May 28, and West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells for the 'RaceFest World Championships' on May 29-30. He's currently ranked ninth in the WoO LMS points standings after 14 events.
