Jon Mitchell Resumes MSRA Action This Weekend

Texarkana, Texas (05/05/10) – After consecutive weeks of rainouts, Jon Mitchell will finally return to action this weekend in his #5 Team 5 Enterprise/GRT By Catman/KHP Racing Engine Super Late Model in back-to-back, COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model events.

Jon currently sits third in the COMP Cams MSRA point’s standings and is eager to resume his pursuit of the title. However, four consecutive rainouts for the tour have kept him sidelined. After being rained out last weekend, Jon made the last minute decision to take his Open Wheel Modified to Diamond Park Speedway in Nashville, Arkansas for a Weekly Racing Series Event. Unfortunately, shortly before hot laps heavy rain nixed the program.

This weekend, May 7th-8th, the team will return to action with the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model tour. On Friday, May 7th, the action will kick off at USA Speedway in Sterlington, Louisiana with a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 30 lap event. This will mark Jon’s first time to compete at the new facility.

On Saturday, May 8th, the action shifts to Mitchell’s home track, 67 Speedway, in Texarkana, Arkansas. A $2,000 to win/$400 to start, 40 lap event is on tap at the ¼ mile oval.
