Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series Tire Samples from Toccoa Speedway Event All Found to be Legal

Woodruff, South Carolina – Officials of the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series announced today that all samples which were taken during the April 10, 2010 event at the Toccoa Speedway have all been cleared of any chemical alterations by an independent laboratory. Samples from fast time (and winner) Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Brent Dixon were collected as random samples after all cars tested during the course of the day cleared sniffer testing. Effective immediately all monies and points earned will be released to the teams and both competitors are cleared to enter this weekend’s King of the Hill 50 at Clayhill Motorsports Park in Atwood, Tennessee.

The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will continue to make every effort to eradicate the use of chemical alteration of tires. “This is a very serious issue that we are taking a hard-line on and being very aggressive with our enforcement. The series is committed to doing our part to rid our sport of these very dangerous compounds. We feel like we have a very strong testing program and a rules structure that will aid is in doing so. We strongly urge any competitor who is considering entering one of our events to ensure that none of the tires they plan to use is chemically altered. We would suggest not even bringing tires that they know have been treated to the track. That way treated tires don’t inadvertently cost someone a suspension and fine.” said SAS Director of Competition Kelley Carlton.

The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series previously announced in January 2010 that the series would no longer allow chemically treated tires at any of its 2010 events. Drivers found to be guilty of violating the newly enacted rules will face monetary fines, suspension from competition with the series, loss of purse money and points earned for the event and loss of additional championship points. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series next event is scheduled for Saturday, April 17th at Clayhill Motorsports Park in Atwood, Tennessee. The King of the Hill 50 will feature a $7500 to win / 50 lap event for the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series super late models as well as an undercard of support divisions including a $1000 to win Open Wheel Modifieds and $500 to win Street Stocks.
