Title: Inaugural Fastrak Mid-Ohio Valley Tour debuts this Saturday Post by LMR on 04/15/10 at 6:27pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 15, 2010 INAUGURAL FASTRAK MID-OHIO VALLEY TOURING SERIES TO DEBUT SATURDAY AT TYLER COUNTY; 12 EVENTS SLATED FOR LATE MODELS By Mike Leone Pulaski, PA…After a late start, the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Late Model Touring Series is ready to debut its inaugural 12-event season this Saturday, April 17 at Tyler County Speedway. The event marks the first of three at the Middlebourne, West Virginia that will be co-sanctioned by the Northeast. “FASTRAK has grown by leaps and bounds in West Virginia,” acknowledged Northeast Co-Director Vicki Emig. “One year ago, Tyler County was running their FASTRAK first weekly event. They’ve already gotten two events in this year with car counts of 23 and 25! Along with Tyler County, Elkins and Princeton are back on board for 2010 as weekly-sanctioned tracks and we’ve been able to add Beckley and West Virginia Motor Speedway.” “Last year we only had two West Virginia racers in Gary Knollinger and Joel Prosser make an effort to compete in our Northeast Touring events,” explained Northeast Co-Director Mike Leone. “With the growth in West Virginia, we felt it was important for these racers and speedways to have a Touring Series closer to home. At the same time, it will give racers the option to compete in more higher paying events as thus far none of the events in the Northeast and MOV conflict with each other!” With the Northeast and Mid-Ohio Valley coming together, Saturday’s event at Tyler County is expected to draw in upwards of 40 cars! The 25-lap topless feature will pay $1,500 to-win. Pits open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7. There is a $75 entry fee. Any tech questions, call Brad Hibbard at 330-540-RACE. The cars and stars of FASTRAK Northeast and Mid-Ohio Valley will return to Tyler County two weeks later on Saturday, May 1 for another $1,500 to-win feature. The long-awaited return of racing to West Virginia Motor Speedway will take place on Sunday, May 16. FASTRAK will make its first ever appearance to the spacious 5/8-mile facility in Mineral Wells. The event will mark the first stand-alone Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series event and is expected to draw in some cars from the Northeast for the $1,200 top prize. Beckley Motorsports Park will host its first ever FASTRAK Touring Series event on Friday, June 4 and what an event it will be! Promoter Jim Williams has stepped up and will offer twin 25-lap, $1,200 to-win features for the MOV! This show may attract in talent from both the north and south for this caliber of an event. Points will be awarded for each feature event. Elkins Speedway will be under the guidance of D.Jay Miller in 2010, and though he took control over late in the going, he’s graciously given the MOV a $1,200 to-win event on Friday, June 25. This show will be the night before the Northeast’s event at Roaring Knob and should give some Northeast racers incentive to make a weekend out of it. FASTRAK returns to West Virginia Motor Speedway for a two-day show on Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10. The Friday night program will be a stand-alone MOV show for $1,200 to-win, while Saturday will have a $10,000 carrot hanging in the first of two National events at the Mineral Wells speed plant. Saturday’s show will award full points for the MOV and Northeast. Princeton Speedway is the southernmost track in West Virginia and though they’ve been part of FASTRAK’s southern tour in the past, their first ever MOV event will occur on Saturday, July 17 for $1,200 to-win. The event will allow many racers the first opportunity to ever compete at the facility located right off Interstate 77. Beckley and West Virginia Motor Speedway will have stand-alone $1,200 to-win MOV events on Friday, July 23 and Sunday, August 1 respectively. FASTRAK will be part of Tyler County’s “Black Diamond Weekend” over Labor Day Weekend. The new Circle Track Management group has really upped the ante with a cool $3,000 awaiting the Friday, September 3 event co-sanctioned by the Northeast and MOV. The finale for the MOV Touring Series will take place on over the weekend of October 14-16- the “Dirt Track World Championship” at West Virginia Motor Speedway, as another $10,000 will await the winner. There is a $100 membership to be eligible for Touring Series points for either the Northeast or Mid-Ohio Valley or $200 for both. Those that have yet to pay their memberships can do so on Saturday. Forms are available on the website at www.fastraknortheast.com and at the track. Any track wishing to host a Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series event should call the office at 724-964-9300.
