Ponderosa Speedway Goes Wide Open with All Divisions on Friday April 16

Junction City, KY-April 11, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will again be ready to present another program of wide open racing action at “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday evening April 16 with a full program of weekly racing series competition.

Ponderosa Speedway will present a full program of weekly racing series competition on Friday April 16. In action will be the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models in a 25 lap, $1,000 A-Main, the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds in a 20 lap, $600 to win A-Main, the Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models in 20 lap, $600 to win A-Main, and the D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman in a 15 lap, $300 to win A-Main. All division will time trial at this event, with preliminary events consisting of a quick six dash and heat events in all divisions.

Activities for the April 16 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting takes place at 7:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 7:15 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., and racing taking the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free. A pit pass will be $25.

Ponderosa Speedway’s most recent events took place on April 9 and feature event winners that evening included David Webb of Nicholasville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models, Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.

Current track championship point leaders heading into the Friday April 16 event are Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN and Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY are tied in Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models, Russ Gabbert of Berea, KY and Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY are tied in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, and Rick King of Junction City, KY and Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY are tied in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.

Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through early October.
