FASTRAK unveils TWO ‘Rookie of the Year’ Programs for 2010
City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series
Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series

Carnesville, GA (Mar-24) The FASTRAK Racing Series has unveiled two ‘Rookie of the Year’ programs for the 2010 season set to get underway the first weekend in April. FASTRAK will crown a national Rookie of the Year in the City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series as well as a Rookie of the Year in the Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series.

“We’ve been fortunate in that over the winter months, there has been so much interest in the FASTRAK Racing Series” said FASTRAK’s Michael Hurley “we began to take notice of the vast number of newcomers into the series in 2010. The number of drivers registering to be a part of the City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series and the Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series has outpaced recent years to this point so Stan felt as though it was time to adopt a program where we could recognize such a large group of newcomers into our sport exclusively”

In addition, the FASTRAK Racing Series will recognize both the runner up and third place finishing rookie contenders in both the City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series as well as the Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series where the winners in each will be awarded $1000 in addition to a specially constructed trophy and an embroidered leather jacket. Each runner up will be awarded $500 and third place $250.

A driver competing for Rookie of the Year in the Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series is eligible to compete for City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series ‘Rookie of the Year’ as well.

The 2010 Rookie of the Year in City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series will be based on a driver’s best 15 finishes.

The Rookie of the Year in the Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series will be based on total points accumulation. BUT any eligible rookie driver who competes in ALL events which make up the 2010 Old Man’s Garage Southeastern Touring Series schedule will be awarded 10 additional points at the conclusion of the season which could well be the difference maker.

A major sponsor announcement is forthcoming in relation to both of these exciting Rookie of the Year programs.

City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series

1st Place
· $1000
· City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series NATIONAL Rookie of the Year trophy
· NATIONAL Rookie of the Year leather jacket.
2nd Place
· $500
3rd Place
· $250

Eligibility Requirements
· Driver must register with FASTRAK Racing Series Corporate office by calling Michael Hurley

· Must be a weekly FASTRAK member
· Must be a touring member to receive points at a touring event
· Best 15 finishes. ROY points will be tracked on FASTRAK website www.fastrakracing.com
· Driver cannot have won a FASTRAK touring event
· Driver cannot have won a Late Model track championship
· Driver cannot have won ANY major Late Model event
· Eligibility at the discretion of FASTRAK Racing Series
· Points begin first weekend of April and end last weekend in September
· Ties will be broken by 1st place finishes, and then 2nd place finishes and so forth until tie is broken. Ties will be based on ALL finishes not the best 15. Should tiebreaker not be possible, we combine the money amounts and split equally among those competitors

· If competing for NATIONAL Rookie of the Year, driver must be member of both to receive points for both
· Points will be based on Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series point standings
· Driver cannot have won a FASTRAK touring event
· Driver cannot have won a Late Model track championship
· Driver cannot have won ANY major Late Model event
· Eligibility at the discretion of FASTRAK Racing Series
· 10 additional ‘LOYALTY POINTS’ added to point total at end of year for 100% attendance of Old Man’s Garage.com Southeastern Touring Series events
· Points begin April 3
· Ties will be broken by 1st place finishes, and then 2nd place finishes and so forth until tie is broken. Should tiebreaker not be possible, we combine the money amounts and split equally among those competitors
