Anthony Burroughs Eager For P.R.O. Event At North Alabama Speedway

Muscle Shoals, Alabama (03/18/10) –Anthony Burroughs get excited any chance that he gets to return to North Alabama Speedway and given the torrid start to the 2010 season, he is especially eager to take his #121 ALT Transportation/Mastersbilt By Stuckey/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle at the ¼ mile oval this Saturday night.

Last weekend, the team set out to compete in a pair of events. However, after having the Southern All Stars Friday night show at Boyd's Raceway (Ringgold, Georgia) nixed by Mother Nature, Burroughs entered a single event over the weekend as he entered the Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model Series opener at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday night, which was also co-sanctioned by the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series. A stellar field of 38 Super Late Models entered the event at the 1/3 mile, clay oval. With group qualifying in effect, Anthony qualified sixth fastest in his group to earn the four starting spot in his qualifier. He would go on to advance to a third place finish in the qualifier, which gave him the 13th starting position for the 40 lap, $2,000 to win event. During the race's early stages, Burroughs would slowly begin to work his way to the front, and by the race's midpoint he was up to 8th. Over the final half of the race, the handling on the #121 Mastersbilt began to come to Anthony, and he would motor his way to a third place finish behind event winner, Chris Wall, and Chad Thrash.

With the opening weekend for the two series’ in the books, Anthony currently sits third in the P.R.O. Super Dirt Car Series standings and is the point’s leader in the national points for the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series.

Burroughs and ALT Motorsports are preparing for another busy weekend. Friday night’s plans are up in the air as the team may enter the $5,000 to win, Southern All Star Super Late Model event at Boyds Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia or they may just do some testing in the open practice session at North Alabama Speedway.

On Saturday, March 20th the team will definitely be in action with the $2,000 to win event at North Alabama Speedway, which will be co-sanctioned by the P.R.O. Super Late Model tour and the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Super Late Model tour. For more information, please visit www.NorthAlabamaSpeedway.com, www.ProDirtCarSeries.com, and www.NeSmithRacing.com .
