Some additional notes on last night....
Teenager Michael Kolfoid won, I believe , his first winged 360 Main.
Jerry Bartlett won the Sport Mod Mainby inches over Howard Law after a dominating Phillip Shelby lost his rear brakes with a couple of laps left. A wild accident about half way through saw Jim Waller pile into Willie Horn between turns 1 & 2 and then continue wide open into the wall, jumping the concrete and blowing through the plywood and across Simpson Lane, which runs parallel to the backstretch, ending up in an orchard across the street. He fortunately wasn't hurt but that was one accident he'll remember. Willie, one of the track's senior racers, got his car torn up and his bell rung but was okay. The emergency crew took it carefully getting him out and I imagine Willie is looking for a hot tub ride today.
Long time guy to beat in the area's Hobbies ,Brian Compton, was never threatened for the win in the Main.
The winged Super Stocks had the lowest car count of the evening with six showing and only 3 making it to the main. We fought with some carb/timing problems when we got there and with some much appreciated help from Richard V. got them solved, went out for hot laps and ran one lap and broke the Chinese Brinn trans ending our night. Fellow Chico runner PhilMarino didn't fare any better with a cracked leaking fuel cell and was also out. Steve Hammet's car, with Ryan McDaniel driving, had rear end problems and joined us & Marino in the DNS club.
Hope we all got the bad luck out of the way as we're planning on running Petaluma's season opener next week although the long range weather forecast doesn't look good rightnow. Welcome to March racing in NorCal.
