1-800LOANMART OFFERS BIG BUCKS FOR STREET STOCKS AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
(Perris, CA, January 10, 2013) Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian has announced that 1-800LoanMart will be back in a big way to promote the PASSCAR Street Stock Series in 2013. 1-800LoanMart is now the official series sponsor for the Street Stocks and will offer a $5,000.00 point fund. The track will host the 1-800 LoanMart Street Stock Challenge Series for the second year, which will be run in conjunction with the Bakersfield Speedway and the season will culminate with the 2nd Annual 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Turkey Bowl that will feature a minimum purse of $22,500.00 in November.
Starting with the March 2nd season opener, the winner of each 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Series main event is guaranteed of taking home $1,000.00. In addition, the top ten in points at the end of the campaign will receive money from the $5,000.00 championship point fund. The 2013 series will consist of 12 races. Ten of the races will be at The PAS, including both nights of the 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Turkey Bowl. The other two races will be at the Bakersfield Speedway during the 1-800Loan Mart Street Stock Challenge.
"Going into last year we were kind of late into the game," LoanMart's director of marketing and sales Colby Estes said on Wednesday afternoon. "We did the challenge series and we did the Turkey Bowl. I kind of mentioned to Don that I wanted a bigger involvement for this year. We talked throughout the year and we have talked throughout the off season and we finally put some stuff together. The purse is going to be $1,000.00 to win the Street Stock main at The PAS every race not matter how many cars there are. We also put up $5,000.00 for the top ten finishers in the season long standings. I want to thank Don for helping me get that done. We are excited. We are going to go big."
The 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Challenge will present a different look for the 2013 season. In 2012, all four races in the series took place at Perris Auto Speedway. For 2013, two of the races will be back at The PAS and two others will be held at one of the longest running racetracks in the nation, the Bakersfield Speedway. The PAS dates will be July 20th and August 31st. The Bakersfield dates will be June 15th and August 10th. The purse for each of the four races will be $5,425.00 and will feature a more structured purse than in 2012. The high point driver at the conclusion of the four race series will receive a $1,000.00 bonus.
The purse for each of the four races in the 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Challenge Series will be as follows; 1st $1000, 2nd $450, 3rd $425, 4th $400, 5th $375, 6th $350, 7th $325, 8th $300, 9th $275, 10th $250, 11th $150, 12th $125, 13th - 22nd $100. Total Purse $5,425.
"All of us at Perris Auto Speedway are delighted to have LoanMart back on board in even a bigger way in 2013," Kazarian said. "It is nice to expand the LoanMart Street Stock Challenge to include the historic Bakersfield Speedway and I look forward to working with Scott Schweitzer throughout the year. This series is great for both racetracks. The most important thing it is good for the race teams as 100% of the Sponsorship ($19,380.00) will go directly to the racers! It is going to brawl between the PASSCAR Stars and the Bakersfield Stars in 2013!"
Bakersfield promoter Scott Schweitzer echoed Kazarian's excitement.
"I am absolutely ecstatic about it," he stated over the phone on Wednesday afternoon. "When Don gave me a call and told me what was going on with the chance for my racers to go down there and the chance for Perris cars to come up here with the help of 1-800LoanMart, it just sounded like a great deal for the drivers and the fans."
In hopes to entice cars from Perris to visit Bakersfield and Bakersfield to visit Perris, 1-800LoanMart is offering $100.00 tow money to each away car in the four race series.
"You don't see what 1-800LoanMart is doing - offering $100.00 in tow money for away cars - that often," Schweitzer said. "To see them step up and offer that is a great deal for racing and the racers. It should make great nights of racing at both facilities when the series shows up."
2010 PAS Pick-A-Part American Factory Stock champion Steven Fangmeyer is moving up to the Street Stock class full time in 2013 and was enthused when he heard the news for the upcoming season.
"I am excited," the Corona based racer gushed on Thursday morning. "I think it is pretty cool with the added incentives. I think you will see a lot of guys moving up to Street Stocks from Factory Stocks and American Stocks to get their share of what LoanMart is offering. And, I think you will see a lot of drivers, like we saw at the end of last year, coming back to race Street Stocks from Super Stocks or Modifieds or building an extra car to compete in the class, too."
When asked if he would make the trek to Bakersfield for the series races, Fangmeyer had a one word answer.
"Absolutely!"
The PAS street stock season will wrap up with the 2nd Annual 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Turkey Bowl on November 8th and 9th. At the inaugural running last November, cars from four states filled the pits, but local racer and past PAS Champion Linny White of Colton captured both nights of the prestigious event and pocketed $7,500.00. The 2013 edition of the race will carry a minimum purse of $22,500.00.
"The inaugural 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Turkey Bowl drew a lot of attention in 2012 and was a great event," Kazarian said. "This year we expect it to be even better as we will have a year of planning before the event. It's beginnings remind of the Budweiser Oval Nationals. In 1996 when we started the Oval Nationals, little did we know that it would become one of the premiere open wheel shows in the nation. The Turkey Bowl is destined to do the same for the Street Stock class."
Throughout the 2012 season, 1-800LoanMart stepped up not only for the racers, but for the fans as well giving away prizes including large sums of money, concert tickets, all expense trips to the NASCAR race in Phoenix and more. In addition, they sponsored food drives at the track for a local food bank and participated in the track's annual fund raiser for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
"1-800LaonMart kept amazing me with all they did throughout the 2013 season," Kazarian said. "Not only for the racers, but for the fans as well. They are really into the grass roots portion of the racing industry."
Estes confirmed what Kazarian stated abut LoanMart's participation on the local level.
"It all goes back to the community level of everything," Estes verified. "We have a couple big sponsorships, but the majority of our sponsorships are on the local level. We are big on minor league baseball and local racing on the dirt and the asphalt. It is perfect for the community. People go there and support their area and the community and we want to do the same."
"When we signed on with Perris last year, we were still kind of new at it, so it was not a clear picture. It was still kind of cloudy," Estes laughed. "As the year went on I kept Don informed that we had things in place. We are going to do it again this year. Bigger and better I imagine. I have some things I am working on. Hopefully some big, big trips."
