fromthegrandstands LMR God Offline A REAL Pain in the A$$ Posts: 1230 Santa Maria, CA	Re: rain Reply #1 - 04/11/12 at 9:44am It would be cool if the Santa Maria SMAT Bus came on board as a Speedway Sponsor - and offered transportation TO and FROM the Speedway from a couple locations - KMART - BUS CENTRAL - HOLIDAY INN or something - then guys could still get there - the soaked parking lot wouldn't be as much an issue - and RACE FANS who drink - wouldn't be driving!

After driving to work from SM to VAFB, at 5:45AM through the rain, lightning and so forth, and at 45MPH with wipers on full blast, talk about a fun drive, I sure would love to see some pictures of the track today, I bet boat races or drag boats would be the order of the day, never have I driven through rain like that since we had those bad years back in 68,69. and 70 when some of the south base went down the river for those who are too young to remember, and all the washed out bridges and roads, and the slip of part of the base highway down the gullys....I would be we got close to 2 inces of rain this morning????
