Distributor builder in Bakersfield?
04/02/12 at 8:05pm

I have a couple old distributors that I'm sure could use a rebuild before they go back into a car... does anybody around town do distributor builds/rebuilds?

Thanks.

Should have been more specific, they are race distributors, not stock.

Does anyone rebuild their race distributors or do they just buy new ones?

Most people fix them themselves.  Whats wrong with it.

I have one that lost the advance weights and a couple that were disassembled but i have all the parts.  Just need someone who knows what they're doing to put them back together and make sure everythng works.

As long as the distributor machine can spin the distributor to 3500 rpm you are good...Doesn't take a "race" guy to set one up...You can see on the scope where the curve comes in, etc...My opinion is to lock it out..we're not idling in a parking lot getting groceries! LOL We have not ran a curve in 15 years...
