Montes Wins First Madera Race on the New Madera Track

Dallas Montes led wire to wire in a smooth display of driving to give himself the title of being the first winner on the new Madera Speedway surface. It was not all smooth sailing though as he had to hold off charges from Brian Richardson and Trevor Schlundt. Montes picked up $1,000 for winning round one of the Coors Light Open late model series.

Rick Thompson was involved in a late race accident that turned what looked to be a good night into a rough night, the bad news is he finished 11th, the good news is race winner Montes drew number 11 out of the hat in victory lane giving Thompson the $200 Coors Light blind draw bonus.

Robert Reagan won the 250 lap Spring Fling enduro race, Jerry Selsor won the 50 lap Hobby Stock main event and Dave Kong picked up the win in the 4-Banger Open.
