I never understood why some people want mufflers that are crazy loud. From the stands I can't remember what one car sounds like from the other and I really can't tell the performance from one muffler to another. So when the question comes up, which one sounds the best my answer is one that is as quiet as possible without choking down the motor. I think there is an advantage to being able to hear cars around you as well. I can hear when cars get close to me on the track. Flowmaster makes a reasonably quiet muffler that performs well. My last muffler sounded like a sewing machine. Worked pretty good and I never had to wear ear plugs. With this flowmaster I don't wear ear plugs as well.

I was told it couldn't be heard from the stands. It was plenty loud to me in the car though.
